• Email address: To send you important updates and communications about the service
• Name: For personalizing your experience
• Notes: Selected readable content is sent through application server functions to AI providers when you request AI Studio, Agent, transcription, or other AI processing.

3. Data Processing and Security

We take the security and privacy of your data seriously:

• Your email and name are stored securely and only used for the purposes stated above
• Note bodies are encrypted in your browser before saving and decrypted there for reading. Titles and organizational metadata are stored separately from encrypted note bodies
• When you use AI features, selected readable content is sent to server functions and AI providers to perform the requested operation
• We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data
• Service providers process information needed for authentication, storage, billing, and the AI operations you request

4. Encryption Process

To ensure the privacy of your notes:

• The note-body saving and reading workflow uses browser-based encryption and decryption
• Content-encryption keys are derived from account information. This does not establish a zero-knowledge guarantee that only you can decrypt stored content
• Note bodies are encrypted before saving. This does not cover titles and workspace metadata or readable material submitted for AI processing
• The current note-body encryption uses AES-GCM. Older content may not use the current encryption path

• While your notes are encrypted, no digital system can guarantee absolute security against all potential future threats
• For business or legal compliance requirements, verify if our security measures align with your specific needs

Please note that while we strive to maintain the highest security standards, Weavernote is designed as a general-purpose note-taking application. Users are responsible for evaluating the appropriateness of storing sensitive information based on their specific requirements and circumstances.
